From Ideation to Creation
Initial Illustration
The album, The Wheel, is an homage to the Native American medicine wheel. The colors represent different cardinal directions, and correspond to different seasons, elements, parts of the self, and more. The colors and complexity of the medicine wheel vary from tribe to tribe, so in this case we chose the one with white, yellow, red, and black.
I created this illustration for the hands to represent the earth, the snake to represent the air and water, and the celestial elements to represent fire.
Creating The Hands
Snake Iterations
This was the most difficult to create. It was challenging to find the right textures and contours for such a thin, delicate form that has a different, distinct back and belly.
Final Form Taking Form
The snake was so tricky due to its delicately thin body and winding shape.
